To uncover what happens to the microplastics released during laundry, the research needs to be conducted where this information can be found: in people's homes!

Citizen scientists who want to participate in this project will install a microplastic filter on their washing machine at home, allowing them to collect long-term data on the microfibers released during their laundry with a minimal time investment.
